Three Rangers fans have been held by police in Germany after disrupting an easyJet flight.

Thousands of fans travelled to Berlin to watch the Ibrox team play in a friendly match against RB Leipzig at the weekend.

Three passengers travelling from Edinburgh were met by police after the flight landed at Berlin-Schonefeld Airport after cabin crew reported them to be behaving in a ‘disruptive manner’.

A spokeswoman for the airline said: “easyJet can confirm that three passengers, who were behaving in a disruptive manner during flight EZY6977 from Edinburgh to Berlin on 14 January, were met by police on arrival in Berlin.

“The return sectors of the passengers have been cancelled as a result of their behaviour.

“Whilst they are rare, easyJet takes all incidents of disruptive behaviour seriously. easyJet’s crew are trained to assess and evaluate all incidents and act appropriately and we will not tolerate abusive or threatening behaviour.

“The safety of its passengers and crew is the airline’s highest priority.”
