As the 50th anniversary of Celtic’s European Cup triumph approaches in May, the club has planned a series of celebrations to mark the occasion.

Marking the historical victory from May 24 - 28, events planned include a Legends match at Celtic Park, where two more Celtic greats, Henrik Larsson and Lubo Moravcik, will play their own part in the celebrations.

The club’s triumph in Lisbon on May 25 1967 is a hugely important part of Celtic’s history and an integral part of their identity, defining Celtic as one of Europe’s leading football clubs.

Led by the great Jock Stein, 11 men all born within 30 miles of Celtic Park took on European giants, Inter Milan, in the heat of Lisbon.

They won the match and with it the honour of lifting the famous European Cup, the biggest trophy in Club football.

Celtic will be announcing a number of events to celebrate the Lions and have already been inundated with calls from fans at home and abroad looking to be part of the celebrations.
