A MAN who punched a stranger in the face who refused to let him borrow a phone has plead guilty at Glasgow Sheriff Court.
Brian Lowe, 27, was walking down Saracen Street on October 3, 2015, when he approached a stranger and asked to use his mobile phone.
The Procurator Fiscal depute told the court that the man refused and continued walking when the accused began shouting at him.
Lowe, of Divernia Way, Barrhead, followed the man and proceeded to punch him in the face as witnessed by a door steward at a nearby snooker hall.
Following his arrest, Lowe became aggressive and began calling officers “b*******”.
Adding: “I’ll f****** smash every one of you”.
Lowe’s defence agent told the court that his client’s behaviour was “extremely poor and concerning”.
The judge ordered the accused to a total of 380 hours of unpaid work to carry out over the space of eight months.
