STAFF at a Scottish garden centre have been playing it for laughs and cracking more than a few yokes as they serve up a two-for-one breakfast offer in a bid to beat the January blues.
Restaurant workers Demi Murdoch, 21 and 20-year-old Ainsley McGovern have been donning ham and egg fancy dress costumes to put a smile on the faces of customers at Cardwell Garden Centre’s Patio Restaurant and Cafe.
The duo have been entertaining visitors to the centre, near Gourock with their costumes and frying pan patter after the two-for-one breakfasts started being served at the beginning of the month.
And one of Ainsley’s favourite jokes is to burst into her version of the Elton John and Kiki Dee hit, singing: “Don’t go bacon my heart…”
To which, Demi replies: “I couldn’t if I fried!”
Cardwell’s retail general manager, Paul Carmichael said: “January can be such a dull month, so we thought we’d get all sunny side up for our customers and give them a wee breakfast bonus to cheer them up.
“Now every day’s a Fry-day and our eggs-ellent two-for-one offer is proving very popular with visitors to Cardwell.”
The two-for-one breakfasts are available between 9am and 11am, seven days a week until the end of the month.
