A BOSS sent text messages which included inappropriate sexual remarks towards his former employee, a court has heard.

Majid Aleem Dim, 37, was in the dock for sentencing after pleading guilty to repeatedly sending unwanted text messages to the woman between January 1, 2015 and March 21 the same year.

The charge sheet states that the messages were abusive, threatening and contained inappropriate sexual remarks.

Dim, of Glencairn Drive, sent the messages to his former employee who worked at the hotel he owns.

When police caught up with Dim, he replied: “There was never any intention to proceed, it was just spitefulness.”

The court heard from Dim’s defence agent that there was no romantic element to the relationship between the pair.

They had formed a close friendship and she had left her job on good terms.

Dim’s defence agent said that his client had been going through some difficulties in his personal life when his offending occurred.

The court heard he had struggled with addiction issues from an early age and had been in rehab.

Sheriff Paul Crozier placed Dim under supervision for 12 months.

He was also ordered to complete 150 hours of unpaid work in the community within six months.

This was reduced from 200 hours of unpaid work due to his early plea.
