Shocking footage shows the lead singer Greg Puciato sitting on top of an air vent metres above the crowd while singing.
An onlooker captured the moment he plunged into the crowd in an attempt to crowd surf.
The singer and fans escaped without injury, but more footage then shows the singer using cable wires to pull himself back up onto the stage.
The footage caused an outcry amongst fans who panned his actions as a violation of health and safety.
The video, posted on Facebook by a member of the audience has attracted multiple comments from social media users who were left unimpressed by the stunt.
David Robinson said: "Idiot. Crowd surfing I tolerate. That is plain stupidity."
David Thornton said: "He did something similar at Damnation a few years back, just about killed himself."
Dillon Grant said: "Could have easily hurt someone".
The Evening Times has contacted Queen Margaret Union for comment.
