ETHICAL grocers Locavore have confirmed plans to move from their base in the south side of Glasgow to a bigger shop in the city.
The property for the new grocery store will be on High Street in the Merchant City.
Subject to planning and building warrant, Reuben Chesters who runs the business, will begin work to turn it into their first big store in May.
The property is around 4000sqft and has a circular frontage which looks out over High Street.
There will be a greater selection of existing products as well as organic wines, more household goods and a much wider range of unpackaged grains, nuts, dried fruit and spices.
A kitchen where Locavore will make their own preserves, a deli counter and organic cafe are also included in the plans.
Locavore secured £50k through a private investor and have been awarded £100k match funding through Firstport’s Launch Me programme.
Posting on their website, Locavore said: "We’re really excited about the months ahead but our fingers are still very much crossed that it all goes to plan, or at least close enough to plan.
"We’ll keep you up to date with how things are progressing over time.
"Thanks again for all your help and support to date."
