TWO teenagers are being treated in hospital after a serious road crash.
A 14-year-old girl and 19-year-old man were rushed to hospital by paramedics following the crash on Sunday, around 2.50am.
The pair were passengers in a black Seat Ibiza which came off the A713 Ayr to Patna Road into a field while being driven by a 17-year-old woman.
Emergency services attended and took the 19-year-old man to Ayr Hospital, before he was later transferred to the Queen Elizabeth University hospital where he remains in a serious but stable condition.
The 14-year-old was take to Crosshouse hospital and is in a stable condition.
Officers have now appealed for witnesses to come forward.
Sergeant Iain Pittams from the Divisional Road Policing Unit based at Irvine said: “I would appeal to anyone who was on the A713 in the early hours of Sunday morning and may have witnessed the crash to get in touch.
“Similarly if anyone saw a black Seat Ibiza on the road around the time of the incident, please come forward.
“Anyone with information is asked to contact the Divisional Road Policing Unit based at Irvine via 101.”
