COPS are still searching for a motorist who was involved in a high speed pursuit through the streets of Glasgow - before he abandoned the stolen car.
Police confirmed that they signalled for the vehicle to stop and after the driver refused, a 30 minute chase ensued through city streets.
The incident happened on Sunday afternoon and several people took to social media websites to report a heavy police presence.
One woman said on Twitter: “Major police and helicopter presence in Springburn. Looks serious.”
It is understood that the car was pursued by officers from Glasgow’s West End to the North East.
The car thief’s fast and furious journey ended in Springburn when he pulled into a housing estate.
Police Scotland confirmed that he abandoned the stolen car on Eccles Street in Springburn.
A source told the Evening Times that he fled with another to nearby flats.
It is understood that the pair were able to escape police using a security fob to gain access to one of the block of flats in the housing estate.
