A TEENAGE boy has been reported over a wilful fireraising incident on a train line which caused major disruption for commuters last week.
British Transport Police launched an investigation after the fire which caused significant damage to the railway close to Blackridge station.
They were called to the scene before 10pm on Wednesday, January 18 at the line adjacent to Bedlormie Drive following reports of a fire.
The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service also attended and the fire was quickly extinguished.
The track and overhead power lines were significantly damaged which resulted in extensive delays and disruption on the mainline between Glasgow and Edinburgh.
A spokesman for British Transport Police said: "Detectives from British Transport Police have charged a 14-year-old boy with wilful fire-raising following an incident on the railway line last Wednesday, January 18.
"The boy from West Lothian will be reported to the Children's Reporter."
