It may be one of the biggest films of 2017 but do you know where T2 Trainspotting's key scenes were filmed?
The Danny Boyle flick was shot at various locations across Scotland, with Edinburgh and Glasgow providing the backdrop for the majority of the film which stars Robert Carlyle, Ewan McGregor, Ewen Bremner, Jonny Lee Miller and Kelly Macdonald.
With so many of the sequel's key scenes being shot in Scotland, movie fans only have to step outside to walk in the footsteps of their antiheroes.

If you're not sure where to start, here's our guide to ten T2 Trainspotting locations you need to visit.

1 Arthur's Seat and Holyrood Park, Edinburgh

This spot will be familiar to T2 Trainspotting fans as it's the place where Renton and Spud go running in the early summer sunshine. It's also the perfect place to enjoy panoramic views of the Scottish capital.
2 Various Edinburgh Old Town locations, including Victoria Street and the Grassmarket, Edinburgh
This location provides the backgdrop for Renton's high speed chase through Edinburgh. If you're visiting, it's also worth popping past the Grassmarket, Victoria Street and Fleshmarket Close which make appearances in the film.
3 Edinburgh Airport and Princes Street, Edinburgh
The Scottish capital's airport is the place where Renton receives a warm welcome home from some tartan clad girls. A quick tram journey will take you to Princes Street, which also makes a cameo appearance.
4 The Douglas Hotel, Clydebank, Glasgow
This Clydebank boozer doubles as the Port Sunshine pub in Danny Boyle's Trainspotting sequel.
5 University of Glasgow, Glasgow
It's one of Scotland's oldest universities and now Glasgow University can add starring in a box office smash to its list of accolades as its exterior doubles as an unnamed Edinburgh school in T2 Trainspotting.
6 Wolf and Water pub and Café Tartine, Leith
Based on Commercial Street, the Wolf and Water pub is the place where Renton and Sick Boy meet during the film. Sick Boy is also later seen standing in front of the nearby French bistro Cafe Tartine.
7 Corrour train station, Rannoch Moor, Highlands
The gang visit one of Scotland's most remote train stations to pay their respects to Tommy during the sequel. The station is on the West Highland Line between Glasgow and Mallaig.
8 The Forth Road and Forth Rail Bridges
Renton and Sick Boy make a very memorable journey across the Forth Road Bridge during the film.
9 Scottish Parliament, Edinburgh
The Scottish Parliament also makes a very brief appearance in the hit film when Renton and Sick Boy pay a visit to Holyrood to talk money.
10 St Stephen’s Church Edinburgh
St Stephen's Church in the Scottish capital makes a cameo appearance in the film, providing the location for a meeting of Spud's support group at the beginning of the movie.
