A TEENAGER has been handed a six-year Football Banning Order over his behaviour surrounding Partick Thistle Football Club matches.

Anthony Sweeney, 18, was in the dock at Glasgow Sheriff Court for sentencing after pleading guilty to two separate incidents.

The Procurator Fiscal depute told the court it was around 3pm on October 24, 2015 when the match between Partick Thistle and Hamilton Accies had come to an end.

Sweeney, of Barloch Street, Possilpark, was outside the ground with others when police watched him shout obscenities at Hamilton Accies fans.

He shouted: “C’mon you f*****g p****s, I’ll f*****g kill you.”

In the same football season, he turned his attention towards Celtic fans on March 12, 2016.

This incident happened at the Canal Path near Firhill Road.

Uniformed officers spotted Sweeney with a group of other men directing comments at the Celtic support.

He shouted: “F****** come ahead, let’s go, come up here s*******s”

His defence agent described the incidents as “impulsive anti-social behaviour” and he said immaturity was an overriding factor.

Sheriff Miller placed Sweeney under supervision for two years as an alternative to custody.

He will also complete 300 hours of unpaid work.
