GLASGOW schools will share in more than £21m of funding to help pupils in poorer areas achieve better results.
City schools will receive £21.6m across its 30 secondary, 139 primary and 24 special schools.
Almost one in five of pupils in Scotland who qualify for the cash are in Glasgow schools with 18,000 eligible pupils.
Following his announcement Education Secretary, John Swinney said: “I want every child in Scotland to have the best possible start in life, and it is unacceptable for children from the poorest backgrounds to have their chances limited by circumstances outside their control.”
