A WOMAN threw a shoe at a police officer after she was arrested and placed in a cell, a court has heard.

Annemarie Molloy, 45, was in the dock for sentencing at Glasgow Sheriff Court.

She plead guilty to the assault which happened at Helen Street Police Office in Govan on October 23, 2015.

She also accepted that she shouted, swore and utter threats of violence.

Molloy ended up being arrested after she came to the attention of police officers who went to Burnbank Terrace in Glasgow to deal with another matter.

The Procurator Fiscal depute told the court that they saw Molloy who they described as being intoxicated and agitated.

She began to shout and swear at the police officers saying: “f*** you” and “f****** p*****”.

She was placed under arrested and continued to be verbally abusive towards the police officers on the journey to Helen Street.

When she was placed in a cell, she threw a shoe towards a female police officer.

Molloy’s defence agent told the court his client was struggling with her alcohol intake and had been drinking to excess on the day of the incident.

Molloy, of Stewartville Street, Partick, will wait to find our her fate.

Her sentencing was deferred for three months by Sheriff Sean Murphy QC to May 2.
