A PERFORMING arts group which gives East End youngsters the chance to produce, direct and star in their own productions has been given a financial boost.
PEEK Youth Theatre received funding from the Ross and Liddell community bursary scheme.
The group encourages young people to work together to create a production inspired by a topic they feel passionate about. Their performance Listen will be built around their opinions on Brexit.
Helen Mill, creative learning development manager, said: “The youth theatre continues to be a great success. We have a fantastic group of youngsters who organise every aspect of their performances. The funding is very much appreciated and will help us to make some great creative ideas come to life.”
PEEK Youth Theatre meet at St Mungo’s Academy.
