PLANS to turn a former East End boozer into an outdoor cafe have been submitted to Glasgow City Council.
Baking giants Greggs want to turn Walkers in Bridgeton’s London Road into a cafe.
The Newcastle based firm, who have over 1,700 branches in the UK, want to install a small customer seating area inside the shop.
Greggs also propose using the pavement outside in front of the shop to place three tables and six chairs.
In their plans, the company say the appearance of the building will alter significantly but it will be in keeping with other shopfronts in the area.
The plans were discussed at a recent meeting of Bridgeton and Dalmarnock Community Council.
Concerns over whether the pavement was wide enough to host an outdoor cafe were voiced but no official comments have been lodged on the planning application.
A decision on the plans is expected next month.
