AN EAST END community recently held a big clean-up to improve a set of allotments used by veterans.
The Parkhead Community Garden, which is situated close to Tollcross Road and opposite The Salvation Army, was tidied up by local volunteers.
The volunteers were working to prepare the ground for Save Our Veterans who use it as a community allotment.
Tesco in Parkhead helped organise the event with Save Our Veterans and it is hoped others will make use of the allotment space.
Susan Wilson, who is pictured, is the supermarket's community champion.
She said the event was a success but there was still lots to do within the garden.
She added the get together gave the local community a chance to talk about what they would like to see in the garden.
