A BMW that was owned by Sick Boy in the latest Trainspotting film has been put up for sale by a car dealer.

The black convertible was owned by Jonny Lee Miller’s character in the T2 film.

And now the current owner, who runs a firm called One Call Recovery, is giving fans the opportunity to buy the motor.

Earlier this month, the car was advertised on auction site eBay earlier with a joke price of around £10million.

However, the seller says it is more likely to be worth around £5,000 – which also includes the number plate.

He told the Scottish Sun: "We do stuff for production. We do quite a lot of television work.

"People phone us and say ‘Can you get a BMW? We need a Porsche. Can you get a police car?’ Because I’m in the industry I can usually find one.

"When we’re finished with them we get them. Then the production company just get rid of them.

"I’ve had it for months. It’s just sitting in the yard.

"It’s the main vehicle in the film."

He added: "I’ve been offered £3,000 for it. But I think it’s worth a wee bit more for someone’s man cave or something.

"It’s only worth about £4,000 to £5,000 with the number plate on it. But there is talk of a T3 coming out so I might need to keep the number plate."

The BMW is used as a getaway car in the film and in the film and the main characters are shown to be taking selfies inside it.

The Danny Boyle flick was shot at various locations across Scotland, with Edinburgh and Glasgow providing the backdrop for the majority of the film which stars Robert Carlyle, Ewan McGregor, Ewen Bremner, Jonny Lee Miller and Kelly Macdonald.
