The latest highly infectious vomiting bug sweeping the nation has been reported in schools across the country.
Shigellosis causes chronic diarrhoea and sickness.
Symptoms include:
- Watery diarrhoea (which is sometimes bloody)
- Stomach ache
- Fver and sometimes vomiting
It can take from one to three days for the symptoms to develop after being infected and symptoms usually last for three to seven days.
