A SLIMMING WORLD consultant who shifted over six stone has been recognised for her efforts to help others shift weight.

Aleksandra Lennon, 33, was invited to the organisation’s head office as part of its national Consultant Slimmer of the Year competition.

Aleksandra, who runs a group in Cambuslang, is 6 and a half stone lighter through following the plan.

At her heaviest, she weighed 19st 5lb, and found both her health and confidence were beginning to suffer.

So in January 2013, she joined her local Slimming World group to become fit and healthy mum for her daughter Maya.

When she claimed her 6 ½ stone award in 2016, she decided to train to become a Slimming World consultant herself.

She said: “Slimming World only recruits people to become consultants who have lost weight with the plan themselves.

Glasgow Times:

"It’s so important that we have a real understanding of how it feels to struggle with your weight.

"Everyone has those initial jitters when they decide to join a Slimming World group for the first time but people soon realise that we are all there for the same reason – because we want to do something about our weight."

She added: "Nothing beats the satisfaction I get from helping people to lose weight and transform their lives. "Seeing their health and confidence improve, as well as their whole outlook on life change, is a reward in itself."

Aleksandra’s weight loss put her in the running for Slimming World’s Consultant Slimmer of the Year 2017 competition, which was open to all of the club’s 4,500 consultants who have lost weight in the last 12 months. She attended the finals at the club’s head office in Derbyshire on Sunday, February 5, and was presented with a certificate and gift by Slimming World’s CEO Caryl Richards.

The Cambuslang Slimming World group is held every Thursday at 9.30am at The Baptist Church Hall.
