MUSIC legend Sir Tom Jones is to return to Glasgow's Kelvingrove Bandstand this Summer, describing it as a, "truly unique venue."

The star will take to the stage on August 5 as part of this year's Summer Nights at the Bandstand festival, following last year's sell-out show.

Sir Tom, 76, delighted fans on stage last year by saying he would be keen to return to the bandstand, which re-opened to the public two years ago years ago after a £2.1million restoration project.

Tickets for the gig will go on sale at 9am on Friday and fans are being advised to be quick off the mark as last year's show sold out in minutes.

The Voice star is expected to perform some of his best known hits including Delilah, Thunderball and It's not Unusual.

Sir Tom said: “It’ll be a real pleasure to get back on stage at the wonderful Summer Nights at the Bandstand, it’s a truly unique venue and the Glasgow crowds are one of the best in the world.”

Other acts booked to perform include music legend Brian Wilson, The Pixies, Texas and Glasgow 1980s favourites Hipsway.

Tickets are still available for Arab Strap, KT Tunstall, The Shires, Lady Smith Black Mambazo and Nick Lowe.

Mark Mackie, director of Regular Music, said: "We are delighted to announce the return to the Bandstand of the legand that is Sir Tom Jones.

"Sir Tom is one of the greatest stage performers that the world has ever seen and now we have another chance to see him “up close” in this historic amphitheatre on the banks of the River Kelvin."
