One of the biggest actors in Hollywood has surprised Scots footy fans by throwing his weight behind a fundraising campaign.
Mr Tom Hanks himself has signed a limited edition Airdrie home shirt to help out with the club’s efforts to raise funds for an autism sensory room.
Turns out the 60-year-old Forrest Gump and Cast Away actor isn’t the only big name to help the Airdrieonians out.

The club said on its website: “Through internet radio host Ross Owen, the Trust have already raised over £2,300 through similar auctions, with Ricky Gervais, Mark Hamill, and William Shatner adding their support to the campaign.”
The football club is hoping to become the first in Scotland with a sensory room at home games which will allow children with sensory process disorders - such as autism - to attend matches in comfort.
The club hopes Mr Hanks’ auction contribution will help it rocket towards its £10,000 target.
Currently, the top is being listed on eBay, with the bid, so far, sitting at £600.
