It is one of the top 15 most downloaded rock tracks in the UK ever, which means it was only inevitable it would get a Glasgow makeover.
‘Mr Brightside’ has now become ‘Mr Madwan’ after a video showing cheeky Glasgow character Ravie-Davie storm a busker’s performance went viral this week.
The video shows popular busker Andrew Duncan sitting in Argyle Street and getting ready to play the popular Killers smash hit.

It’s at that point Ravie-Davie, the “boy fae the scheme chasing his dreams,” grabs the mic and belts out his own genius Glaswegian version:
Am comin’ ootta Govan/And av been daein’ just fine/Gonnae geez aw yer booze/Am gonnae drink it aw
It started aff wae a winch/How did it end up like this/It was only a winch/It was only a winch
But now she’s fallin’ asleep/And now she’s callin’ a cab/But ma stomach is sick/Because she’s just raided ma bags
It seems to have garnered a somewhat mixed reception from Facebookers who quickly turned into music critics.

“Embarrassin man,” said one Weegie, while another said: “Started off well then got really s**t then got better again.”
Summing up what we felt while watching it, another added: “I only understood about 10% of what he said.”
So far, the video has had close to 100,000 views and almost 600 shares in just five hours.
