Good Morning Britain viewers vented their fury on Twitter after it was revealed the bill for the investigation into Madeleine McCann's disappearance has topped £11million.

Host Piers Morgan debated the case on the show this morning as police prepare to give the probe a further £85,000.

Piers and his co-host Susanna Reid discussed the controverisal topic with Dr Graham Hill, who worked on the investigation, retired Met police officer Sue Hill and Karen Danczuk- who has recently been highly critical of the McCanns.

Viewers were left furious after it was revealed more money will be made available to fund the case for another six months.

The Home Office has granted officers £85,000 to cover "operational costs" to continue with the probe, known as Operation Grange, between April and September this year.

Madeleine disappeared from the family's holiday apartment in Praia da Luz in Portugal in May 2007 aged three.

Her parents, Kate and Gerry McCann, have vowed to "never give up" hope of finding their daughter.

Since 2011, the Metropolitan Police have been assisting with the search for clues about what happened to the youngster, with officers visiting the holiday resort in 2014.
