A DRUNKEN man who police officers tried to help after they came across him outside a pub ended up kicking off in a hospital’s accident and emergency room.
Andrew Barclay, 56, appeared in the dock for sentencing at Glasgow Sheriff Court,
He plead guilty to shouting, swearing, uttering threats and behaving in an aggressive manner at Glasgow’s Royal Infirmary on September 10, last year.
His charge stated that the offence was aggravated by prejudice relating to sexual orientation.
He also assaulted a male police officer by punching him on the body.
The court heard that police officers came across Barclay, of Law Street, on London Road and took him to hospital due to his intoxicated state.
Sheriff Neil J MacKinnon placed Barclay on a structured deferred sentence.
