Just days after the big Primark frenzy that sent the nation into meltdown mode, it was only a matter of time before another fad sent shoppers even wilder - with this one set to be just as big.
Aldi has launched a range of candles which look similar to and smell identical to some of Jo Malone’s best-selling fragrances. The big deal? Aldi’s are a massive 90 per cent cheaper. And shoppers cannot handle it.
At just £3.99 each, the German grocer is giving Jo Malone a run for its money over its candles which cost an eye-watering £44.
The products - launching on March 16 in time for Mother’s Day - are being made available in a choice of three scents: pomegranate noir, freesia and pear, or lime basil and mandarin.

They’re also encased in a contemporary glass jar design which looks similar to Jo Malone’s.
Also, with a burn time of 48 hours, Aldi’s candles further rival Jo Malone’s which burn for 45 hours.
Tony Baines, joint managing director of corporate buying at Aldi, said the retailer believes everyone should be able to afford “the very best,” minus the luxury price tag.
John Davis at European Flavours & Fragrances, Aldi’s fragrance house, added: “Not only do Aldi’s premium candles equal the quality, strength and performance of high-end alternatives, but they’re significantly larger than their premium counterpart, meaning the fragrance is likely to be stronger too.”
The retailer has cautioned shoppers to snap them up while they last. “Once they’re gone, they’re gone,” said Aldi.
Unsurprisingly, cheeky shoppers snapped up as many of the candles as they could in-store, only to sell them on eBay.
One listing currently shows a seller flogging a set of three for a staggering £60 when, in-store, they would cost only £11.97.
