A RANGERS fan who assaulted a Hibs supporter during the disorder at the Scottish Cup Final last year has been told to do unpaid work in the community.

Mark McKinlay, 29, admitted to climbing over the barrier and entering the field of play on May 21 at Hampden Park.

He also plead guilty to run towards a Hibs fan and repeatedly punching him on the head.

The court heard that McKinlay, of Sandy Road, Renfrew. was banned by Rangers FC from attending matches following the incident.

Sheriff Tony Kelly QC handed him a Football Banning Order for one year. He will also complete 200 hours of unpaid work.
