OSCAR winning film star Eddie Redmayne was delighted to meet some young stars from John Paul Academy.
The school’s film club won a 2017 Into Film Award and received the gong at a ceremony at London’s ODEON Leicester Square.
The award, which recognises the club’s exceptional commitment to using film as an educational resource, is a special win for the John Paul Academy film club, which has been nominated three times previously.
Film club leaders Jacqueline Thompson and Michael Daly encourage their students to discuss and review films they’ve watched in the club and explore the literature behind popular film adaptations.
And they also make films as part of their school timetable by taking part in Into Film’s See it, Make it programme.
The Film Club of the Year award was decided by a judging panel made up of specialists in the education sector.
