HEARTS have secured the services of youngsters Jack Hamilton, John Souttar and Rory Currie for another three years after the trio signed new contracts.

The Jambos announced on Friday that all three players have committed their futures to the Gorgie club until 2020.

Goalkeeper Hamilton made his debut in August 2014 and has gone on to earn several call-ups to the senior Scotland side after impressing in his 47 first-team appearances.

Scotland Under-21 captain Souttar has featured for the Tynecastle club 42 times, but his season ended prematurely when he ruptured his Achilles in a game at Celtic Park in January.

Currie has made seven first-team outings for Hearts since joining last summer and the decision of all three to pledge their futures to the capital club pleased head coach Ian Cathro.

"We're all delighted that Jack, John and Rory have decided to pledge their futures to this club," he told heartsfc.co.uk.

"This is positive news for the club and shows that this club continues doing what it has always done, in committing to and excelling in the development of young Scottish players.

"These are three players who are at different stages of their development but have all had a positive impact at first-team level.

"Our priority is to always work to improve the squad, we will work collectively across all number of markets to try and do this, however as this club has shown many times before - it's commitment to and focus on the development of its own players -  and of young Scottish players -  will always be of the greatest importance."
