HOUSING bosses have announced a change to the public consultation dates for the Victoria Infirmary development.

Sanctuary Group now says the consultation will be extended until the end of April.

They claim this is to give extra time for community feedback given the high level of interest in the plans for the site.

Events planned for March 23 and 25 will now be held on Thursday, April 20 and Saturday, April 22.

Peter Martin, Group Director of Development at Sanctuary Group, said:

“We have always understood how important the Victoria is to local people and have extended the consultation period to give people more time to share their views.

"We have been hugely impressed by the interest from the local community in this development and the more involvement we have the better the resulting development will be. It’s vital we consider as much feedback as possible before producing updated proposals.

"We are already looking forward to sharing these proposals with the community and hope that lots of people take the opportunity to come along and view it on April 20 and 22.”

The two events will still take the form of informal drop-in sessions.

An exhibit of the proposed planning design will be on display at these sessions and representatives from Sanctuary and the design team, Collective Architecture, will be in attendance to answer questions and discuss the plans.

The events will take place at Langside Library on Sinclair Drive from 2pm till 7pm on April 20, and 10am till 3pm on April 22.
