TICKETS to a show at the SSE Hydro to celebrate the achievements of the Lisbon Lions have sold out in 30 minutes.

Celtic Football Club say tickets were quickly snapped up for the event which will feature rocker Rod Stewart and Sir Alex Ferguson.

The Celebrate '67 will take place at the Glasgow venue on Thursday, May 25.

A spokesman for Celtic FC said: "Net proceeds from the event, which is sponsored by Creditfix, will be going to the great work of Celtic FC Foundation and it is wonderful that such support has been given to this cause.

"We appreciate that there was incredible demand for this event and we recognise that so many fans wanted to play their part in honouring the Lisbon Lions, our greatest ever team.

"We want to make sure that as many fans as possible take part in all our celebrations and with this in mind, the club will be staging a number of other events in relation to the 50th anniversary of Lisbon. Information on these will be provided shortly."

The surviving players from the 2-1 victory over Inter Milan in 1967 will take part in a series of events in May, including a civic reception at Glasgow City Chambers and a tribute lunch.
