A DRUG dealer has been jailed for a year after cocaine and cannabis resin worth £15,000 was found in his car.

Ian George Glatley, 47, has been sentenced to twelve months in prison after being caught with a supply of class A and B drugs in the Cumbernauld area.

Glatley was arrested on Friday, August 5, 2016 after officers conducted a search of his car, and recovered cocaine and cannabis resin with a combined estimated street value of £15,500.

He pled guilty last month and appeared at Airdrie Sheriff Court on Tuesday, March 21 to be sentenced.

Detective Inspector Graeme Naysmith said: “Ian George Glatley was caught transporting a significant quantity of drugs which undoubtedly were intended for distribution within our communities.

“I hope this outcome sends a clear message to others concerned in the supply of controlled drugs that our officers will do everything they can to disrupt their criminal activities and bring them to justice.

“Anyone with information about drugs activity in their area is asked to call their local police station via 101. Alternatively CRIMESTOPPERS can be contacted on 0800 555 111 where details can be given in confidence.”
