A MAN subjected three children to a tirade of abuse while they were out playing, before threatening their mother with a glass bottle.

Mohammad Hussain, of Queen Mary Avenue in Queens Park, stopped his car to shout at the shocked youngsters while they were in their garden on Albert Road on June 30, 2015.

27-year-old Hussain approached the group and began shouting and swearing in their direction, leaving them scared and crying.

The kids were so scared that they ran in and told their parents.

Hussain continued his behaviour at the front of the house where he told their parents that the children had thrown a stone at his car and shouted “f****** children”.

While he tried to explain himself, he became agitated and insinuated kicking the children.

The children’s mother was left shaking with fear and pleaded with Hussain to stop shouting and swearing.

During the explosive rant, Hussain smashed a glass bottle he was holding against a barrier and began brandishing it in mid-air.

He also attempted to strike the scared mum on the head.

While another male finally escorted Hussain away, he continued to shout and swear at the family.

The police were contacted and received a description of the Hussain from the victims.

He was later arrested in relation to a separate matter and charged with acting in a threatening and abusive manner by shouting and swearing.

He was also charged with lunging at the mother and attempting to strike her on the head with a broken bottle.

He appeared at Glasgow Sheriff Court on Wednesday for sentencing.

His defence agent told the court that Hussain accepted that his behaviour was “unacceptable” and that his client “wasn’t in a good place” when the incident occurred.

Sheriff McCrorrie told Hussain that a custodial sentence at the forefront of her mind but opted to hand him a community payback order.

He will be required to undergo 12 months supervision and 150 hours of unpaid work within nine months.
