SOUTH side cycle routes are being made safer thanks to new bus stops.
Work has begun on Pollokshaws Road and Devon Street as part of work to improve bus stops across the city.
Plans from SPT and Glasgow City Council aim to make a reliable bus service that will encourage people to leave their cars and use public transport.
Works on the south side will involve building three bus stops to allow cyclist to cycle around the bus shelter.
The stop on Pollokshaws Road before Devon Street will be relocated to two new locations.
The new bus stops will be relocated to Pollokshaws Road after Devon Street and Devon Street opposite Abbotsford Place.
There is also additional works at Calder Street outside Govanhill Baths where cycle parking facilities are being constructed.
The work, which began on Monday, is expected to take four weeks to complete.
Soryia Siddique, who is standing as a Labour councillor in the area, said: "Improving bus stops for Southside Central and cycle friendly parking facilities is welcomed.
"A travel friendly and green city should improve living and working in the area."
