Police have detained a man after an alleged botched robbery which took place in one of the busiest shopping streets in Glasgow.
Cops had to cordon off an area around the Phone Expert shop in Argyle Street in the early hours of Friday morning.
A brick was reportedly thrown at one of the property’s windows, leaving the street strewn with glass.
It is understood that the alarm was raised just before 6am.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Officers attended reports of a break in on Argyle Street around 5.45am this morning.
“Police are following a positive line of inquiry.”
