A TEENAGE girl was left with a serious facial injury after a man assaulted her when she left the pub. 

Detectives are appealing for information following the serious assault on Wednesday, March 22, in Renfrew.

The 19-year-old woman left the Victoria Pub in Paisley Road and crossed over to the bus stop at around 10pm. As she was stood at the bus stop, a man approached her and seriously assaulted her.

The woman was taken to the Royal Alexandra Hospital for treatment for a facial injury.

The suspect is described as white, in his 20s, around 6ft tall, with a slim build and short dark coloured hair. He was wearing a light coloured top. The suspect made off in the direction of Renfrew Road.

Officers are carrying our door-to-door inquiries and are in the process of collecting CCTV footage from in and around the area for any additional information.

Detective Constable Louise Kane said: “At this stage we do not know the motivation for this attack but it does appear to be unprovoked and has left a young woman with a facial injury. It’s possible there were other people in the area at the time of the incident who perhaps witnessed the attack and I would urge people to get in touch and pass on any information.”
