A “naughty pup” found by police walking around one of the busiest shopping streets in the country on National Puppy Day has been reunited with its owner after an online appeal.

Cops happened upon the dog on Buchanan Street on Thursday morning and posted an image of the cheeky pooch ‘assaulting’ an officer on Twitter in a bid to reunite the animal with its owner.

Officers said he was being looked after by friendly colleagues at City Centre Police Office in Stewart Street.

Now, though, in a tweet posted this afternoon, Glasgow City Police confirmed it was safe and well having been reclaimed.
