A MAN was sentenced at Glasgow Sheriff Court for driving while being nearly five times over the legal drink-drive limit.
Craig Hamilton admitted to driving a Mazda on South Street after he was out drinking with a friend.
The court heard the 25-year-old was out for Christmas Eve and
got behind the wheel of the car which he then crashed – causing significant damage.

Hamilton admitted that on December 25, last year, on South Street, he drove a green Mazda, after he had 102 microgrammes of alcohol in 100ml of breath.
His defending solicitor said he was a young man who had made a “gross error of judgement” who was very remorseful and fully cooperated with the police.
The car was written off by the insurance company. The sentencing sheriff disqualified Hamilton from driving for 16 months and imposed a fine of £300.
