A BOYFRIEND wrote off his partner’s car after driving into oncoming traffic and causing a crash.
Glasgow Sheriff Court heard James Lang admitted liability for the incident, on April 4 2016.
The 24-year-old was only in possession of a provisional licence, rather than a full driving licence, and had no insurance when he took his girlfriend’s car without permission.
Lang, of no fixed address, drove his the car dangerously and while speeding on Archerhill Road, swerving into the opposite carriageway and into the path of an oncoming car.
The driver of the other car was forced to take evasive action and both vehicles were written off, “much to his girlfriend’s chagrin”.
Lang’s lawyer said that he is now “managing to stay out of bother”.
He was fined a total of £720 and is disqualified from driving for 12 months.
