READING about the SEC medical workers being replaced with a private firm (Evening Times March 28), even on a zero hour contract if you have been employed for over 2 years and have done work in your role over that period (or longer) then you should be TUPE’d across to the new employer.

Redundancy occurs when the job no longer exists or has diminished to the point it can be absorbed by others in the workforce.

There is no length of service required to be TUPE'd or made redundant, the 2 years is required to raise a claim at an Employment Tribunal.

All employees whether on zero hour contracts or not have protected rights.

GREATER RISK

YOU will probably find that most of the Ambulance Scotland staff replacing the SEC medics will also be zero hours. How can they possibly make it any cheaper in that case?

Less bodies = more risk.

AWFUL TREATMENT

I HAVE been to many concerts at the SEC for over 20 years.

I have personally received treatment from medical staff and found them to be amazing.

To treat loyal members of staff like this is a disgrace.

I knew it was changing but didn’t realise it was for the worse.

How can a council run venue allow people to be treated like this?

GAME CHANGER

REGARDING the second independence referendum, the UK Scotland voted to remain part of years ago does not exist.

Scotland being dragged out the EU because of votes cast in another country is a game changer.

AMAZING PHOTOS

FOR many years I was a member of the Royal Photographic Society and saw many great exhibitions at their Bath HQ.

However, I can honestly say that I have never seen such a mind blowing exhibition than that currently on display at Glasgow Central Station.

“The Landscape Photographer of the Year “ images are so good I could have missed my train just standing looking at them!

Well done also to Network Rail for accepting that public places like this can become wonderful exhibition spaces.
