A WOMAN who stole meat in Marks & Spencer foodhall ended up attacking employees who caught her shoplifting, a court has heard.

Danielle Heron, 20, appeared from custody at Glasgow Sheriff Court after admitting to several offences.

She plead guilty to stealing meat worth £60 from Marks & Spencer in Argyle Street on February 16.

She also plead guilty to acting an aggressive manner towards Marks & Spencer staff. She accepted that she shouted and swore.

Two employees were subject to an assault by Heron.

She plead guilty to repeatedly kicking a male employee on the body.

She also attempted to bite him on the body.

In a separate charge, she plead guilty to assaulting another male employee by kicking him on the body.

The offences were granted while she was out on bail.

She appeared from custody having been handed a nine month sentence for other matters at Paisley Sheriff Court.

Heron’s defence agent said his client reacted the way she did because of the situation she found herself in. She was terrified and panicked.

He added that her offending related to drug use and her lifestyle.

Sentencing Sheriff Neil J MacKinnon handed Heron a sentence of 81 days in detention which was backdated to February 17 and will be served concurrently.
