SCOTT BROWN'S international future has hit the headlines this week as the Celtic skipper mulls over his availability for the crucial Russia 2018 qualifier against England in June.

The Hoops midfielder wore the captain's armband for Sunday's 1-0 win over Slovenia at Hampden Park but is yet to commit to future national team selection, hinting that he will seek the approval of Bhoys boss Brendan Rodgers first.

Brown missed the first three matches of Scotland's World Cup qualifying campaign after announcinig his international retirement last August, but returned to the fold for November's 3-0 defeat against England at Wembley.

Victory against the Slovenians on Sunday lifted the Scots into fourth place in Group F, two points off Slovakia in second.
