A SERIAL shoplifter who walked out of department stores with a haul of clothing on three separate occasions in the space of a month has been jailed.
Stephen Murtagh, 52, appeared from custody from HMP Barlinnie at Glasgow Sheriff Court for sentencing after pleading guilty to the offences.
He admitted that he nicked £1,332 worth of clothing from Debenhams at Silverburn Shopping Centre on January 29.
Days later he took £1,304 worth of clothing from Marks and Spencer at Silverburn Shopping Centre on February 9.
His final haul was at the same shopping centre on February 27. He took £1,155 worth of clothing from Marks and Spencer.

His defence agent told the court that his client did not consider himself a professional shoplifter.
He was jailed for nine months.
