COPS nabbed a ‘drug dealer’ after they spotted him hunched over counting money in the street in Glasgow’s East End.
Brian Stewart, 39, appeared in the dock for sentencing at Glasgow Sheriff Court after pleading guilty to two drugs offences.
The Procurator Fiscal depute told the court that police were at Balfluig Street in Easterhouse at around 1.15pm on October 21, 2015.
The court head that Stewart came to the attention of the police as he appeared to be huddled over in the street counting a large quantity of money.
He thereafter produced Class C Diazepam to officers and in court he plead guilty to having the drugs with intent to supply them to others.
The court heard that a warrant was granted for Stewart’s home address in Arran Lane, Moodiesburn.
A search was carried out the following day on October 22 and police discovered a small Cannabis cultivation with equipment including a fan.
He also plead guilty to producing Class B Cannabis.
Stewart’s defence agent said his client had a significant drug addiction and had over a 1000 Diazepam tablets in possession for his own use and low level social supply.
He avoided jail and was told to complete 200 hours within six months.
He was also fined £150.
