CITY centre cops spotted a man in the street with a belt wrapped around his right hand in the early hours of the morning.
Fahid Majid, 20, plead guilty to having an offensive weapon in his possession when he appeared in the dock at Glasgow Sheriff Court for sentencing.
The Procurator Fiscal depute told the court that cops spotted Majid with the weapon at around 2.20am on June 21, 2014 while they were standing on Argyle Street at its junction with Queen Street.
Majid defence agent said his client had been involved in a fight, and the crown also said that police spotted a small cut to his left eye.
Majid, of Great Western Road, Glasgow, also plead guilty to a failure to appear at court on September 29, 2015.
He will complete 295 hours of unpaid work and one year supervision.
