A MAN who moved a stolen car from one side of the city to another has been told to do unpaid work.
Graham Keen, 47, appeared in the dock at Glasgow Sheriff Court for sentencing.
The Procurator Fiscal depute told the court that Keen was pulled over by cops in the Maryhill’s Balmore Road on September 30, 2016.
Keen told officers that the car did not belong to him, and that he did not have a valid licence or insurance.
He told cops that he was given the keys to the silver Volkswagen Golf “somewhere in the East End”.
Keen’s defence agent told the court his client met an acquaintance at the Fort Shopping Centre and was asked to move the vehicle from the car park to the North of the city. He added that his client struggled with homelessness.
Keen plead guilty to being involved in the “reset of the car which was dishonestly appropriate by theft”. He also plead guilty to driving with no insurance or a valid licence.
Keen will complete 170 hours of unpaid work. He was also banned from driving for a year.
