GLASGOW Sheriff Court welcomed four new summary sheriffs yesterday.

The start of the court day was delayed slightly to 10.15am to welcome the new sheriffs whose appointments were announced by the Scottish Government in December.

The sheriffs appointed to the Sheriffdom of Glasgow and Strathkelvin, who will be sitting at Glasgow Sheriff Court are Shona Gilroy, Gerard Bonnar, Barry Divers and Diana McConnell.

Glasgow’s top cop Chief Superintendent Brian McInulty welcomed the new sheriff.

He said on the social media website Twitter: “Glasgow Sheriff Court to see four new sheriffs being appointed. Wishing them well in their new roles.”

A total of 21 summary sheriffs were appointed as part of major reform of Scotland’s courts.

The new judicial office of summary sheriff was created to deal with some types of civil and criminal cases in the sheriff court.

The new sheriffs officially took up office yesterday.
