I WAS sorry to read about Arnold Clark’s death (Evening Times April 11).
I interviewed Arnold in the 90’s whilst writing for a business magazine.
In my opinion he was a real gentleman.
Like all companies, there will be a percentage of unhappy customers (and millions of happy ones in the case of AC Motors) but there’s no denying that he built a very successful business. Clever man. RIP Arnold.

Applaud Arnold
A MAN who did what Arnold Clark did, should be applauded.
He employed thousands, and has done a lot for charities throughout the years.

Shameful choice
WE must get rid of those couldn’t care less MSPs in the west of Scotland.
The decision to build a film studio in Edinburgh is a slap in the face to those people in and around the existing Cumbernauld studio area.
This horrendous decision by an SNP government smacks of a tourist/money making enterprise. Shame on you!

Unpopular choice
TIM Horton reveals location for first UK Store - and it's in Glasgow. (Evening Times April 10).
Tim Horton stores sell a product known as “Tim Bits” with coffee at their retail outlets in Canada and the US.
Are they aware that this product is not likely to be popular with certain customers in Glasgow, once their flagship UK store opens?

Waiting times
READING about the parking row at Hairmyres hospital (Evening Times April 10), the hospitals I tend to visit such as Gartnavel enforce a four hour waiting time from what I’ve seen.
If this isn’t possible at Hairmyres, perhaps they should let down the tyres of these inconsiderate clowns - would certainly give them considerable inconvenience anyway.

Don't take the car
WHY so many people have to take cars bewilders me.
All hospitals are well served by public transport.
