Harry Styles poked fun at his new solo career as he impersonated Mick Jagger on Saturday Night Live. The One Direction star mimicked the Rolling Stone frontman for a sketch on the US comedy show, where he also showcased some of his new music. The 23-year-old performed his number one single, Sign Of The Times, and a new song, Ever Since New York, in his first TV performance as a solo artist. Harry – who will appear in Christopher Nolan’s forthcoming war film Dunkirk – showed off his comedy acting skills in a sketch based on Family Feud, America’s version of Family Fortunes. After host Steve Harvey – played by Kenan Thompson – congratulated Mick on his solo work, Harry replied in a London accent: “Solo? Why would anyone in a successful band go solo? That is insane.” Harry was also asked to find the top answer to the question: “What keeps you up at night?” Impersonating Mick, he replied: “Well if I’m up it’s because I’ve got a little company right. A little hanky panky.” Harry was shown dancing during the show’s opening, which saw guest host Jimmy Fallon and Chic guitarist Nile Rodgers perform David Bowie’s Let’s Dance surrounded by dozens of dancers. He also featured in another sketch about a group of soldiers in the American Civil War who entertain themselves by singing. It was the first time in SNL’s history that the show was broadcast simultaneously across all time zones in America. Alec Baldwin reprised his role as President Donald Trump for a sketch, while Melissa McCarthy returned as White House press secretary Sean Spicer following his controversial comments about the Holocaust. Harry had previously appeared on Saturday Night Live with One Direction in 2012, 2013 and 2014. His self-titled album is due to be released on May 12.
