A festival dedicated entirely to ice cream is heading to Glasgow this year - a first for the city.

The two-day event is aiming to break away from the conventional ice cream in one cone or cup to urge Glaswegians to take everyone’s favourite summer treat to “a whole other level.”

The team behind the Ice Cream Festival 2017 said: “Eat yourself through the new and exclusive ice cream creations of your favorite local manufacturers.

“We bring all the local ice cream parlours together in one place - and you will be able to try every single taste.

“Next to a cozy lounge area, you will find relaxing summer beats and many freezing specials.”

Location and exact times will be announced soon, although organisers have confirmed the event will take place on August 19 and 20. Search ‘Ice Cream Festival UK’ on Facebook for more information.
